Always a big fan of Bonobo’s music, I’m particularly glad I’ve been able to make that piece to illustrate the first track of the album Fragments.
Shaped by the title and the melody itself, I was also inspired by the beautiful short movie Ghost Cell directed by my friend Antoine Delach, and which I had the chance to work on a few years back.
The idea was to rely most and foremost on procedural effects and audio driven animation, allowing me to make the entire piece in about a month.
All the CG was rendered in Redshift+Maya and compositing was done in AfterEffects.
