direction, animation & visual development

Born and raised in Normandy in the mid 80s, Jean started making little animations, digital images and websites at an early age. After highschool, and despite a growing passion for computer graphics and film making, he started pursuing a career in architecture, while working as a web designer freelance on the side. After a year, he left the school and switched path, getting accepted in the 3d animation program of Supinfocom (now Rubika). Five years passed and he graduated in 2010 with his thesis short movie 8BITS which was selected for the 2011 Sundance Film festival and won multiple awards around the world.

Since then, Jean had the opportunity to continue refining his skill set, working in advertising, branding design, and film, while living in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. He notably directed music videos for NOISIA, Al’tarba & Senbeï, Bonobo, and was in charge of the visual development & VFX supervision on the upcoming War Of The Worlds movie, directed by Rich Lee.

Because of that multifaceted experience and his deep knowledge of the CG/VFX production process, he is often tasked to develop the entire look and feel of a piece based on a specific set of technical constraints.
Always keeping an eye out for original creations and cutting-edge technology, his personal universe is not bound to a specific style, but often showcases strong visual compositions and cinematic ambiances, deeply inspired by his love of 80s-90s Hollywood movies, 70s French movies and Japanese animation, and enriched by his experience as a designer and storyteller.

Most and foremost a communicator and creative problem solver, his deep devotion for the digital and traditional arts keep feeding his passion to share his dreams, craft new things and collaborate with other passionate artists.
